A Salute to Cooking

A Salute to CookingNow I know I'm biased because there is a recipe in here from my beloved Daddy BUT I'll have you know that even though it isn't a high-end cook book by some swanky chef A Salute to Cooking (Cook Book) is one of my favourite books to cook from. Why? Because there is no theme to it so there is literally everything from pea and ham soup to honey buns so whatever you feel like there is something and usually you can find something to suit what you have already in your fridge and cupboard that need using up. It is also fantastic because, although some of the recipes are written by chef's, the majority are not so they are easy to follow and do not require a whole load of kitchen know how which is sometimes just what you want if you are trying out a new recipe after work one day.

Buy this book as a treat for yourself (skip over the James Blunt, Jeremy Clarkson entries... what's the point of them I don't know) or as a present for a hard to shop for male friend. I made the Dark Chocolate and Ginger Squares last night and they were delicious. This book is in aid of The Chelsea Pensioners so really you have no excuse not to get it.
